Some made it seem like it was Dan who caused the collision, or that he crashed because he was after the $5m prize that was on offer… & don’t get me started on The Daily Mail!
It was a tragic series of circumstances that lead to the accident that took his life.
Dan Wheldon should have been celebrated for his achievements in Britain long before this weekend. We always hear when footballers have affairs or rugby players seen in bars with other women, but the British Media never give any consideration to the likes of Dan Wheldon or even Dario Franchitti who made a success of themselves in the USA as genuine humble British sportsmen & became huge stars across the Atlantic for their sporting achievements.
I find that utterly disgraceful by the mainstream media
For all us motorsport fans, we will remember Dan Wheldon as a true champion, a two time Indy500 winner & one of the finest sports stars to hail from Britain.
